Mentoring in Secondary Schools
Viral Marketing Film
‘Mentoring in Secondary Schools’ is aimed at showing potential volunteers the scope and the reality of work they could get involved in. The film features an employee of Deutsche Bank and the students of The Harris Academy. It looks at the positive impact of the scheme on both the mentee and the mentor.

The Strategy
CSV is the UK’s leading volunteering and training charity.
To use our video production expertise to create a series of viral films that would allow CSV to speak directly to their target audience of potential volunteers.
CSV saw the opportunity to use video as a method of engaging those people who may be less inclined to consider volunteering, and as a way to tap into the mindset of young people aged between 16-25.
To create a series of six viral films which would increase CSV’s potential in reaching a younger audience by speaking directly to them, using the tools most common to them - social networking sites and You Tube - providing users with the ability to share content, and in turn allowing CSV’s message to travel by word of mouth.
We visited a number of ongoing projects around the country and worked with both volunteers and beneficiaries to develop narratives that really get into the heart of what volunteering is all about.
Through the delivery of individual stories told passionately by volunteers and beneficiaries we were able to produce a series of personable films highlighting the genuine rewards and the benefits of being a volunteer.
